Woman-to-Woman Coaching for Financial Advisors
Program Overview
The WLA Ambassador Confidential Coaching Program aims to support women in the financial advising profession by providing a confidential and safe space for guidance around sensitive questions or career-related challenges. Participants are encouraged to utilize these sessions to explore and address the unique challenges they face. Our goal with this program is to lift one another up and to foster a strong community of women leaders in the industry.
Process
1. Potential coaches must complete the WLA Ambassador Community’s Request for Confidential Coaching
2. WLA will review all requests and determine whether the applicant qualifies for coaching and whether an appropriate coach match
is available.
3. If selected and matched, coachees will be introduced to their coach via email.
4. Coach provides at least three options to coachee for a first scheduled coaching session.
5. Coaching sessions may occur via video conference, via phone, or even in-person when possible.
6. The coachee is responsible for sending calendar invite(s) and any zoom links or other meeting resources.
7. Following the coaching session, coaches will complete a brief coaching form confirming the meeting.
8. After the first session, and upon mutual agreement between the coach and coachee, up to two additional sessions may be scheduled.
Coaching Session Structure
Frequency: Each Ambassador Community member is eligible for up to three (3) coaching sessions per year.
Duration: Each session will be up to 45- minutes.
Format: Sessions can be conducted in-person, via phone, or through video conferencing platforms.
Calendar: Coachees are responsible for sending calendar invites and virtual meeting links.
Possible Coaching Topics Include:
☐ Career Challenges–sensitive questions or situations
☐ Career Direction–navigating opportunities, negotiations, goal setting
☐ Leadership Development–advancing in the profession
☐ Retirement/Succession–strategy, timing, planning for what’s next
☐ Imposter Syndrome– challenges with confidence and assertiveness
☐ Conflict Resolution– navigating difficult conversations or situations
Requirements for Participation for Coachees and Coaches
1. Membership Status: Participants must be active members of the WLA Ambassador Community
2. Application Process for Coachees: Submit a brief and confidential application sharing their goals/topics.
3. Application Process for Coaches: Submit a coach application. Participate in a WLA coach virtual training meeting.
4. Commitment: Participants must commit to being punctual and to providing at least 2 hours notice of cancellation.
5. Confidentiality Agreement: Confidentiality is critical to this coaching program. Both coachees and coaches must agree to the program’s confidentiality terms to ensure a safe and trusting environment for open discussions. This agreement form will be sent to participants once an application has been approved.
Non-recruitment Policy:
Participants agree to refrain from engaging in any recruitment efforts between and among participants throughout
the course of the coaching relationship.
