WLA Leadership Program Update

WLA Leadership Program Update

The WLA chose as our first program offering a carefully crafted, small group mentoring pilot designed around providing formal training for mentors as well as focusing on helping mentees achieve their individually set goals and objectives. We chose this as our first initiative after extensive research uncovered the many challenges women face in growing in this profession.

Many of these mentees will be in the position of succeeding their senior partners in their practices over the next few years, so providing these women with the tools, knowledge, experience, and confidence to succeed in this endeavor is essential.

Mentees in the WLA program have repeatedly commented how pleased they are with their pairings and how the similarity in backgrounds and experiences is already making a real impact on their daily routines and work environments.

Mentees have also stated they appreciate the fact that this program is mentee centric and allows them to work toward goals they set for themselves.  For many, having the ear of a senior, successful women advisor committed to listening to them has been a truly meaningful and unique experience.

“I feel that this mentor/mentee program has helped make me a stronger advisor and business partner. My mentor has given me the tools to help me succeed; not only as a woman advisor but also as a woman business owner.I feel that she is there, by my side, whenever I need someone to discuss potential setbacks or issues and give me ways to overcome them. She has shown me the potential opportunity that is out there for woman advisors.

“Being in the industry for 6 years, I was doubting my ability.  The increase in my confidence has been a rewarding experience and I already feel the difference.”

“The processes we have been focusing on will help our business run smoother in the long run.  The processes are scalable and repeatable.  I have a renewed conviction about my abilities.”

“My mentor has taught me to trust my gut, which translates into my everyday communication and being able to confidently speak up about my ideas.”
